Simple Life Tour

Oh how I love visiting this little community...not only because my son is just minutes away at Grove City College! But these backroads among gentle rolling farms never fail to offer a sweet surprise on my photographic adventures. Approaching the crest of a hill, we encountered this delightful sight of an Amish farmer heading off to plow his field. What a thrill to capture scenes that transport me to another time, in a world of peace, simplicity, kindness.

This particular trip was a 2-hour tour that I took with a lovely "English" (non-Amish) woman, Susan Hougelman, who lives within the community, has befriended many of her Amish neighbors, and shares her wealth of knowledge of their beliefs, lifestyles, and businesses that thrive in northwestern Pennsylvania with curious visitors from around the world.
